Presentation
Two sister collections: Writing & Post.
Here is the sometimes surprising history of writing and Post from Antiquity to the present day. This museum is currently, in French-speaking Belgium, the only testimony to the history of the Post office. You will find there those objects which already belong to folklore and archeology: litteras stamps, mailboxes and postal signs, walking sticks, bags, uniforms, trumpets, clappers, letter scales... because post offices are disappearing in many villages, the tools are modernized, and we will no longer hear the "barbaric" music of the stamp on the mail...
And because without written messages, there would have been no post office..., the museum also presents the history of writing with authentic and superb objects - from the reed pen and the bird's feather to typewriters passing through calligraphy, pen sharpeners, pen wipers, inkwells, luxurious pen-reservoirs, paperweight balls, etc.
Opening : all year only by appointment, with visit always guided in French, Dutch or English by a passionate person.
